The Mystery killings of Darren Seals, Deandre Joshua, and Shawn Gray.

There is an ongoing mystery surrounding the shooting of Mike Brown that is still unraveling. The recent mysterious murder of Darren Seals who was found shot in his burning car is yet another mysterious chapter of Ferguson and Michael Brown.

Many know we report allot about police vs community and racially motivated incidents in the US. Recently we have been noticing a hidden hand that is manipulating the media by planting stories, distorting facts and funding so-called activist and racial conflicts. We cant prove anything yet but we will soon.

Last year we were in Ferguson documenting the unfortunate one year anniversary of the killing of teenager Michael Brown by police Darren Willson.  While there we had the freedom (rental car) to explore and that is what we did. We went everywhere…our crew even got arrested, shot at, and got sick from the tear gas. During the last hours of this two day crazy trip we dashed to the actual site where Mike Brown was shot. Their was flowers in the street apparently where his lifeless body laid. Next to the flowers were teddy bears and a Contruction cone which were positioned in the center of the street as light traffic passed every few minuets. As we pulled up to a parking lot directly across from the site we were approached by BBC Television and asked to sell our footage of the arrest and protest that had just taken place an hour ago with prominent activist and multi religious clergy. At that protest which was directed at the St Louis Department of Justice, no other media outlet was brave enough at the the time to jump over the police barricade like Nation19 did…so yeah we had the best footage. We denied the offer to sell the footage and proceeded to film the street. While we were changing the batteries to our cameras, two very tall large muscular white men wearing casual attire and matching baseball caps walked up and started taking pictures next to the makeshift memorial in the center of the street. But they were smiling and acting like this was a fun place to take pictures instead of the gloom and sad feeling we felt. It was weird to say the least. They acted like we were not even there. After they took a couple of pictures smiling and laughing they walked away to the same parking lot we were parked with BBC television and they drove away in a federal licensed sedan type car. We stared to walk near the street where the flowers were and an unknown black man in his late 20’s or early 30’s stood and watched us. He didn’t talk right away. He asked us where we were from…then he told us that there is more to this story than what is being played on the news but its a dangerous story to tell. He told us of a couple eyewitnesses to the shooting and friends of Mike Brown who disappeared and/or were murdered and we were shocked. We didn’t know what to make of the information and when we raced to the airport we lost one of the SD cards in the rental car never to be found that had the last few minutes of this trip.

Currently we are traveling in Asia and news has been very difficult to confirm, process, and distribute because we are about 15 hours ahead of the US. But when we finally found out about the death of Darren Seals, a Ferguson activists whom we got a chance to meet, we were saddened. He along with many others are a part of the film #Bars4Justice. So here is what we know. Maybe putting this info out can help unravel more about what is really going on behind the scenes in Ferguson.

Deandre Joshua
20, was shot once in the head and then set on fire inside his car. He was the only person killed during the fires, looting and riots that shook the city after a grand jury declined to indict a white police officer in Mr. Brown’s killing. He was a childhood friend of Dorian Johnson, the friend who was walking with Mike Brown at the scene of his killing.
ferguson_0002_deandre-joshua

Shawn Gray
23, was last seen on Thanksgiving and was reported missing by his family on Saturday, police said. Gray was found in the river about 4:15 p.m on December 3rd 2014 Wednesday near the Landsdowne Avenue overpass. The autopsy could not determine Gray’s cause of death, officials said. Gray’s death has been labeled “suspicious,” and homicide detectives were investigating. There is plenty of speculation that Shawn Gray was a witness to the Grand Jury in the Michael Brown case.

Darren Seals
St. Louis County Police say the remains of Seals’s lifeless body, which had at least one gunshot wound, were found early Tuesday morning September 6, 2016 inside his vehicle in Riverview (6 miles away from Ferguson), which had been set aflame. Police are investigating his death as a homicide. On the night of the grand jury decision, Seals stood with Brown’s mother in front of the Ferguson Police Department building as the news that Wilson would not be charged was announced. His scene had various pieces of debris from the vehicle and what appeared to be shell casings had been left behind by police investigators.

#Bars4Justice doc highlighting hiphop activism and police brutality in Ferguson, Missouri gets US and Canada distribution on 2 year anniversary of Mike Brown’s death

Hip Hop Association and Third World Newsreel (TWN) have secured US and Canada distribution rights to Directors Queen Muhammad Ali and Hakeem Khaaliq’s Award winning (#Bars4Justice) documentary short – A Film shot in Ferguson Missouri capturing a glimpse into the new civil rights movement through hiphop with Talib Kweli, Common, Cornell West.

Khaaliq shot the film in Ferguson Missouri during the one year anniversary of Mike Brown’s death. Mike Brown was an unarmed teenager in Ferguson, Missouri shot to death by Ferguson officer Darren Williams August 9th 2014. The film documents a benefit concert held in his commemoration orchestrated by Talib Kweli to raise money for Mike Brown’s Family. “We initially thought it would be a good idea just to capture such a great event, not knowing that it would later be produced as a film” said Khaaliq.

Roselly Torres, Director of marketing and distribution for Third World Newsreel said, “I’m so happy we found this film. TWN has been collaborating with Martha Diaz of the Hip Hop Association for many years to distribute social issue Hip-Hop media.” Khaaliq and Ali’s #Bars4Justice is a perfect fit with appearances by Academy Award winning hip hop artist/ actor Common, Talib Kweli, Immortal Technique, among many more. Some activists’ appearances include Cornell West, Bree Newsome, Rahiel Tesfamariam, Rev. Renita Lamkin, and Rabbi Susan Talve.

#Bars4Justice is set for release to the educational market in the US and Canada August 9th 2016, the 2nd year anniversary of Mike Brown’s death. Ali and Khaaliq aim to help educate and address injustices caused by a lack of representation in the justice system from the eye of their lens. “Both directors will be available for presentations along with their film, ” said Torres.

The film is financed by Nation19, YoSoy and with the participation of Co-producer Ronald Sims.

Jesse Williams speech at the 2016 BET Awards may offend some people.

In case you missed it, Jesse Williams dropped so many gems in his acceptance speech at the 2016 BET Awards. “If you have no interest in equal rights for Black people then do not make suggestions to those that do, sit down” said Williams.

Grey’s Anatomy star Jesse Williams has been very vocal about social injustices against the Black community. In his recent interview with The Guardian he speaks about his childhood “My parents were both activists and I really connected to the social justice movement. Growing up in Chicago, that was a big part of the community that we were in and the people that were in our house,” he says. “I also lived below the poverty line for my entire childhood.”

He also spoke on his Biracial look “To some people I might be a celebrity because I’m physically attractive. We are programmed to believe that someone is attractive because they told you that blue eyes are hot. I am not going to participate in that shit,” he says. “I aim to do what I can with what I have. And I have my [looks] – you know, European beauty standards give me access to things.”

Watch what he said at the BET awards here:

The Oscars are wack and lacks diversity but that’s a good thing. Here is why.

The 88th Academy Awards ceremony, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (The Oscars), lacks diversity and yes the #Oscarsarewack but that could be a good thing for Film makers, Actors, Actresses, Producers and Directors of Color. Here is why.

People of Color make up 37% of the U.S population, but purchased 46% of movie tickets(Washington Post 12/15/2015) That statistic alone proves that Movies showing diverse cast and crew are big business. This is another wake up call to establish and support institutions that promote and honor black films and the people in front and behind the cameras.

Boycotting the Oscars is not going to change anything, Establishing our own institutions will. Who in the heck is Oscar anyway…lol.

Nation19 is honored to be selected to screen our independently produced film #Bars4Justice at the 24th annual Pan African Film Festival (PAFF) which runs from February 4th – 15th 2016 in Los Angeles. The Festival was founded by actor, producer and humanitarian Danny Glover, Ja’Net DuBois (Good Times), and Ayuko Babu.

Established in 1992 the festival honors filmmakers from all over the world and showcases the broad spectrum of Black creative works, particularly those that reinforce positive images and help destroy negative stereotypes. Last year they even held a workshop / panel with Denzel Washington! The Pan African Film Festival is the longest running event during black history and is the largest film festival in the US.

Actual facts about Police violence against black people in 2015.

In 2015 the actual facts about the ongoing killings of unarmed black people by police in the US is more than alarming. So many lives lost. We get a ton of mail from people telling us that the police are just doing their job in high crime areas but in the facts below its the data proves otherwise.

Click on the red keys on the interactive map to view more info on a particular city.

  • In 2014, 1 in 3 U.S. police killings happened in the 100 largest cities.
  • Black people were 21% of the population and 40% of people killed by police in these cities.
  • Most unarmed people killed by police in major U.S. cities were black (56%). Fewer than 1 in 5 (19%) were white.
  • An unarmed black person living in these cities was 6x more likely than an unarmed white person to be killed by police. An unarmed black person was almost as likely as an armed white person to be killed by police.
  • The Police Homicide rate for black men in 17 cities is higher than the U.S. homicide rate. Black men in these cities have a higher chance of being killed by police than the average American has of being killed by anyone.
  • Black men in six cities face a higher chance of being killed by police than the average American has of being killed in a car accident.

Activists discuss social injustice at World Premier screening of film in Phoenix!

We had such a great night at the world premier screening of our film #Bars4Justice! #blacklivesmatter sisters take over the NetRoots Nation Presidential Town Hall [explicit]

Nation19 Magazine was live on the scene when these strong #blacklivesmatter sisters who took over the NetRoots Nation Presidential Town Hallin Phoenix, Arizona. Here is the play by play.

If I die in police custody do not let my parents talk to Don Lemon, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson or any of the motherfuckers that would destroy my name. Let them know that my sisters got this.

If I die in police custody say my name, say my name… the name that I chose, not the one I was given. If I die in police custody make sure that I’m remembered. Make sure my sisters are remembered. Say their names. Say their names. Marsha P. Johnson. [Unintelligible] Say their names! Say that Black Lives Matter! Black Lives Matter!

Mexican immigration activists also were there.  Two of Black Lives Matter’s founders head up pro-Illegal alien groups.

If I die in ICE custody say I am not a criminal. Stop funding prisons and detention centers! Shut ICE down and (unintelligible) jails and our prisons! Not one more deportation!

The line about ending all deportations got huge applause and cheers from the Netroots.

If I die in police custody, know your silence helped kill me. White sumprecacy helped kill me. And my child is parentless now.

If I die in police custody know that I want to live! We want to live! We fight to live! Black lives matter! All black lives matter!

If I die in police custody don’t believe the hype, I was murdered! Protect my family! Indict the system! Shut that shit down!

If I die in police custody. Avenge my death! By any means necessary!

If I die in police custody burn everything down! Because no building is worth more than my life! And that’s the only way motherfuckers like you listen!

If I die in police custody make sure I’m the last person to die in police custody by any means necessary!

blacklivesmatter_netroots_1If I die in police custody do not hold a moment of silence for me! Rise the fuck up! Because your silence is killing us!

Is the NYPD killings a False Flag or a Hoax? We have questions.

The killing of innocent people is never right or justified. We are hoping this is not a false flag or hoax or a plan to use this situation to allow police around the country to use lethal force against civilians. By no means are we detectives but something about this incident is very strange.

Below we listed a few questions that maybe you can help us answer.

1. Why did Baltimore police fax a flyer to NYPD versus calling or emailing this threat? Apparently the fax was received 5 mins before the shootings. The flyer warns that Brinsley had posted on Instagram “that he will shoot a police officer today. (this is strange)

Brinsley Wanted Flyer_Page_1
Brinsley Wanted Flyer_Page_1 Faxed to NYPD from Baltimore Police 5 mins before the killings in Brooklyn.

(bonus question)
Why would Baltimore Police Department fax a picture (above) that doesn’t show his face when they have a photo (below) of the suspect when he was arrested in the past?
2435E15100000578-2882586-image-m-12_1419204234725

2. According to his Ex girlfriends Mother Brinsley called her and apologized after he supposedly shot his ex girlfriend Shaneka Nicole Thompson in the stomach on accident. He called from his ex girlfriends cell phone.

3. He is an alleged Black Muslim radical who speaks Arabic with ties to Black Guerrilla Family. How was this information sourced? Last time we checked having an Arabic name does not make you a muslim anymore than having a name like Peter, Paul or John Smith make you a Christian. How did the police have this much info so fast?

4. Why would an angry black man avenge Eric Garner and Mike Brown by killing police officers who were Asian & Latino?

5. Why does all the photos of Ismaaiyl A. Brinsley on a ambulance stretcher look like he was handcuffed after supposedly committing suicide? (This photo has been removed by request of the photographer Mr. Theodore Parisienne. To view this amazing photo go here: http://assets.nydailynews.com/polopoly_fs/1.2051969!/img/httpImage/image.jpg_gen/derivatives/article_970/copshot.jpg)

6. How did they know immediately this was in retaliation for Eric Garner…did he write a manifest or suicide note stating this?

7. How is his alleged Instagram page a reliable source?

Brinsley's Instagram page "dontrunup" has been disabled.
Brinsley’s Instagram page “dontrunup” has been disabled.

8. Is there CCTV footage from the subway platform?

9. Where were the newspaper stories from Baltimore about the shooting of the Ex Girlfriend?

10. Why is the only picture of his ex girlfriend showing her dressed in military fatigues? Is she a military officer?

Brinsley's ex Girlfriend Shaneka Nicole Thompson wearing military fatigues.

11. The police car doesn’t show any visible bullet holes or blood.

 12. Officers Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos were working as part of an anti-terrorism drill in Bedford-Stuyvesant during the time they were killed by a alleged Muslim Terrorist. Isn’t that impossible?????!!!!

13. Why are the only official photos of Officers Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos showing them posing in front of a movie green screen behind them?

Officers Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos pictures on a video green screen used for Chroma key special effects. Officer Wenjian Liu uniform doesn't look like it fits him and his head looks photoshopped.

14. How was Brinsley able to take photos inside of a police department while possibly being arrested or detained?

shooting photos from jail? how is that possible?

Here is the official timeline of Ismaaiyl Brinsley’s movements on a day that began with the unauthorized entry into his ex-girlfriend’s house and ended with his suicide in a Brooklyn subway station:

5.30am
Enters apartment of ex-girlfriend Shaneka Thompson in Owings Mills, Maryland with a key he should not have had. They argue.

5.50am
Brinsley fires a single shot at Thompson, reportedly into her stomach. He flees with her cell phone.

6.05am
Brinsley calls Thompson’s mother to apologize for shooting her. He claims it is an accident, and that he hopes she lives.

6.35am
Baltimore County Police begins monitoring him. They track Thompson’s cellphone to the I-95 freeway, where he is believed to have been riding a bus. During the journey he keeps phoning Thompson’s mom, and reveals he is headed to New York City.

10.50am
Brinsley arrives in New York City, in the West Side, and rides the subway to Brooklyn.

12.07pm
He throws away Thompson’s phone in the Barclays Center. The NYPD later recovered it. Investigators are unclear where he goes between midday and the killings at 2.47pm.

1.30pm
Baltimore County Police send the NYPD a fax alerting them to Brinsley and his intentions. By the time it filters down to the rank-and-file, he has already struck.

2.47pm
Brinsley identifies his targets in the Bedford-Stuyvesant area of Brooklyn, tells passersby to watch, then fires four shots at them.
As he flees he confronts two Con Edison drivers, who chase him in their truck and point officers in their direction.
He runs into the Myrtle/Willoughby G train station, where he shoots himself dead on the platform

Please help us out if you have any facts.

If you get caught filming police brutality in Chicago you are going to jail! More cities and states to follow.

An amendment to a Senate bill in Chicago (actually the whole state of Illinois) has been passed to ensure that recording police officers and government officials is now a felony. This law would have made the Rodney King video and Eric Garner videos illegal.

The US Department of Justice reports that an average of 400-500 innocent civilians are murdered by police every year.

The Amendment to Senate Bill 1342 was stealthily introduced on the back of an unrelated piece of legislation last week. It essentially reestablishes a completely unconstitutional eavesdropping law that was previously overturned by The Supreme Court in March for being too draconian.

The amendment has stripped away safeguards to free speech rights from the original legislation and instituted a blanket ban on recording officials in public. It was passed by both the Illinois House and the Senate, with huge majorities, within two days of its introduction.

A post at watchdog website IllinoisPolicy.org notes that the bill is designed to prevent people from documenting interactions with cops on their cell phones by making it a class 3 felony to “eavesdrop” on city and state officials including police officers, police, an attorney general, an assistant attorney general, a state’s attorney, an assistant state’s attorney or a judge.

The new amendment legislates its way around the ‘reasonable expectation of privacy’ standard in law by refraining from defining it, and merely states that recording any “oral communication between 2 or more persons” is now illegal.

A class 3 felony is punishable by a prison sentence of two to four years. The bill also outlines that it is now a class 4 felony to record a private citizen in such circumstances. The crime is punishable by one to three years in prison.

The vaguely worded legislation states:

(a) Eavesdropping, for a first offense, is a Class 4 felony (from Ch. 38, par. 14-4) and, for a second or subsequent offense, is a Class 3 felony.

(b) The eavesdropping of an oral conversation or an electronic communication of any
law enforcement officer, State’s Attorney, Assistant State’s Attorney, the Attorney General, Assistant Attorney General, or a judge, while in the performance of his or her official duties, if not authorized by this Article or proper court order, is a Class 3 felony, and for a second or subsequent offenses, is a Class 2 felony

Jacob Huebert, Senior Attorney at Liberty Justice Center, notes “There’s only one apparent reason for imposing a higher penalty on people who record police in particular: to make people especially afraid to record police.”
